Willing Hearts

“Willing Hearts” have brought Harvest Ministries through several stages of development and  ministry.   From the group who organized the church in 1969, to the enlarged congregation that sold their original building on Florist Road in 1996, to those who moved into the church building on Challenger Avenue in 1998 – one characteristic has distinguished this church family through its history – hearts focused on worshiping God and willing to stretch forward in service to Him.

God blessed that eagerness to worship and serve Him with growth beyond the capacity of the building on Challenger Avenue.  Within 7 years that property was debt-free, and in 2005, God provided the congregation with over 23 acres of land just 2 miles away for ministry expansion.

As God continued to direct, the “Willing Hearts” sold the Challenger Avenue property and constructed a New Worship Center on Blue Ridge Boulevard, where they began worshiping in July 2010.

Captial Campaign

When the site work was nearly completed in July 2009, a three-year capital campaign called “Willing Hearts” was launched.  “Willing Hearts” at Harvest Ministries committed themselves to “Building Beyond Tomorrow,” following the example of those who responded to God’s Word to Moses centuries ago.

“And Moses said to all the congregation of the Israelites, This is what the Lord commanded: Take from among you an offering to the Lord.  Whoever is of a willing and generous heart..”   (Exodus 35:4-5a Amplified)

“And they came, each one whose heart stirred him up and whose spirit made him willing, and brought the Lord's offering.”   (Exodus 35:21 Amplified)

The total cost to develop the property through construction of the Worship Center is as follows:

Property Purchase
Office Building Improvements
Site Work
Building & Furnishings
TOTAL, ALL
Less Resources Available

Amount needed - Campaign goal

$725,000
$55,000
$760,000
$1,860,000
$3,400,000
$2,200,000

$1,200,000

A Capital Campaign to raise this amount follows the principles of  prudent stewardship and insures that the facility cost is retired quickly so that all our resources can be focused on growing ministries.

“Willing Hearts Building Beyond Tomorrow” is based
Not on equal giving but on equal sacrifice.

The contribution of everyone is important, no matter how small.
“No man should appear before the LORD empty-handed.”  (Deut. 16:16)

To assist givers in planning their participation in this 3-Year Campaign, the following table shows the impact of regular giving beginning at $10 weekly.
